This mini display to DVI female adapter features male mini DisplayPort 1.1a input and DVI female output and connect an DVI enabled display (HDTVs, monitors and projectors) to a Mini DisplayPort equipped PC or MAC. The mini displayport thunderbolt DVI adapter requires a separate DVI cable.
The mini displayport to DVI supports compressed audio such as DTS Digital, Dolby Digital (including DTS-HD and Dolby True HD). The mini displayport to DVI converter supports resolutions up to 3840×2160 (4K) Ultra-HD@30Hz, 1080P@120Hz. Supports 8-channel LPCM and HBR audio up to 192kHz sample rate.
The mDP to DVI adapter transmits both audio and video from computer or tablet to HDTV display DVI or a DVI monitor port. (only if your source device allows audio output through the Mini DisplayPorts interface). The MiniDP port can be found on many Macs, gaming Laptops and Tablets plus some graphics cards (nvidia).
